How We Support Your Journey
The NDIS does not fund general home renovations, cosmetic or aesthetic unrelated to the participants’ disability, swimming pools and spa baths, saunas and steam rooms, routine maintenance, repairs to pre-existing damage, painting, and plastering.
- Modifications to improve accessibility, such as ramps, wider doorways, and hallways.
- Bathroom modifications and adjustments, such as showers, grab rails, and special toilets.
- Kitchen adjustments to improve accessibility and enhance safety and functionality.
- Flooring types designed to prevent slips and falls.
- Smart Home Technology assistance with technology to increase control and safety, such as automated lighting or security systems.
- Ensure you are eligible for NDIS support.
- Find an Occupational Therapist or Support Coordinator qualified as a Home Modifications Assessor.
- Get approval from your landlord for any modifications, or provide proof of ownership if applicable.
- Provide a Home Modifications Assessment tailored to your needs.
- Assist you in finding home modification providers and obtaining quotes for your project plan.
- Communicate with builders and the NDIA.
- Submit the report and necessary evidence to the NDIA.
- Help participants understand funding and what to expect.
- Minimise delays and stress, especially for complex and urgent requests.
